East Side was founded in 1919.  Since the beginning, we have existed for one purpose alone: to make Jesus Christ known!  We seek to fulfill this purpose through worship, through witness by our words and deeds, and by the nurture of our people.  We recognize that a Christian's primary need is to be equipped to serve Jesus Christ in life - at work, at school, at home, and wherever life finds you.

We are a congregation of 1900 baptized members.  We are a member of the South Dakota Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
