Sudanese Worship at East Side Sunday, October 16th marked the start of an exciting new adventure at East Side Lutheran Church - weekly Sudanese worship in the Dinka Language - the language of Southern Sudan. Seventy-five people attended the first three-hour service, with guests coming from as far away as Omaha, Kansas City, Fargo and the Twin Cities! A festive meal was held in the fellowship hall following the service. The Sudanese worshiping at East Side intend to join our congregation. Some members of the community have been worshiping regularly with us at 11:00 am. They are very, very grateful for the hospitality extended to them by members of the congregation. We, in turn, welcome them as fellow members of the body of Christ and look forward to being partners in making Jesus Christ known to all people! |
