Pastor Olaf Roynesdal - Senior Pastor - Olaf@eastsidelc.org

Pastor Olaf Roynesdal is a native of Brooklyn , New York . He attended Augustana

College, Luther Seminary, and received his Ph.D. in Church History from Marquette University . He has served Bethany Lutheran Church, Viborg, SD; Baltic and East Nidaros Lutheran Churches, Baltic, SD; and since May 2000 has been

Senior Pastor at East Side Lutheran Church .

Pastor Olaf has taught at Augustana College and at the North American Baptist Seminary, both in Sioux Falls. He has served on various Synod Committees and Boards; currently he is a member of the Synod Endowment Committee.

He has a passion for fishing! In addition, he enjoys reading, doing yard work

and visiting with family and friends.

Pastor Olaf and his wife, Marcia have been married since 1973.

They have three children: Emily, Elizabeth and Michael.

Pastor Lon Kvanli - Associate Pastor - Lon@eastsidelc.org

Pastor Lon Kvanli grew up on a farm near Montevideo, Minnesota. He graduated from Willmar Community College (1977), Augustana College-Sioux Falls (1979), and Luther Seminary (1983). In 2008 he received a doctor of ministry degree in congregational mission and church leadership.

In 1980 he married his wife, Heidi, who is also a Lutheran pastor in Sioux Falls. They are both trained marriage enrichment retreat leaders. They have four adult children: Rachel, Kara, and twin sons: Dan and Mike.

Pastor Lon has been at East Side since February 2002. He previously served churches in Palisade/McGregor MN, Cannon Falls MN, and Lincoln NE. In addition, he has served synods in various capacities.

Racquetball and reading science fiction novels are among his favorite pastimes. In the summer he likes to cruise around in his red, 1965 Mustang Fastback.
